Biography
Clementine Uwitonze, affectionately known as Tonzi, is a celebrated Rwandan gospel singer, humanitarian, and advocate for personal and artistic freedom and a business woman aswell. With over three decades in music ministry, she has touched countless lives with her voice and message of hope. Accruing a number of accolades both locally and internationally, including the prestigious Salax Award, Groove Award, performed at FESPAM festival in 2013, Net Solution CallerTune Winner, KORA Awards nominee, and the MNI Award for the Best Rwandan Online Selling Artist, and the first Rwandan gospel artist to perform at the Trace awards/Festival held in Rwanda this 2023.
The path of her musical journey was fraught with complexities, but Tonzi's unwavering, soulful and vibrant artistry has been consistent. Presently, Tonzi boasts a remarkable discography of nine albums, her compositions not only gracing the airwaves but also reverberating as anthems in churches across Rwanda, east Africa and beyond. Stay alert, as Tonzi is Preparing a release of her 10th gospel music Album, to be released in September 2025.

Her debut book (An Open Jail) is more than just a recounting of her life—it's an invitation to explore the prisons we often unknowingly build for ourselves. Tonzi's story is one of resilience, healing, and discovering the power to break free. Through her journey, she encourages readers to confront their own "life jails" and find the freedom that has always been within reach. Just as Tonzi found her way through embracing the pain and learning from setbacks, she now invites you to walk this path with her—toward liberation, healing, and a deeper understanding of your own strength.

Music Career
Tonzi is a professional gospel artist who holds 9 Albums which she released since 2007 as a solo artist. Her music career started at an early age. She was raised in a Christian family and started her singing career in choirs and different singing groups before launching her solo career where she collaborated on her 7 albums with different international and local artists.
